What is Live-in care?

Live-in care from Pulse8+ Care provides full-time care at home which allows you, or your loved one, to stay at home in familiar surroundings whilst receiving the appropriate and required amount of one to one support. Live-in care can include personal care, housekeeping and companionship and is an alternative to residential care. Live-in care means individuals and families retain control and independence.
Your professional live-in carer works with you to meet your personal needs and wishes and care is designed to meet your existing preferences for meal times and snacks, daytime naps, hobbies and bedtimes as well as any medication and care routines. If your needs change our one-to-one live-in care has the flexibility to evolve with you.

Who is Live-in care for?

Live-in Care from Pulse8+ Care is for anyone who wishes to remain independent in their own home but needs a level of support to do so. It’s not just for the elderly, live-in care is a solution for younger people who may have a condition or injury which means they require support to enable them to live independently.
Live-in care may be a natural progression for a person receiving hourly visiting care but who finds that more support is required.
Live-in Care can be very effective to allow a safe and prompt return home following a hospital discharge and a live-in carer can work alongside health professionals providing care during a recovery period.
Some individuals try residential care, feel it’s not for them and want to return home and receive live-in care.
Pulse8+ Care offer short term respite care to allow family carers to have a break.
Our live-in care is also an option for couples who need assistance but want to stay together and in their own homes.

How does live-in care work?

A live-in carer provides constant care and companionship to you in your own home. Your carer’s role can be varied and your carer can help you with personal care, medication, housekeeping, cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping and trips out.
Your carer will need to have a room of their own and they will also be entitled to regular breaks and holidays. If appropriate we will arrange relief cover with you for these periods and ensure a smooth handover takes place.
All of our live-in carers are directly employed by Pulse8+ Care and we take a great deal of care to ensure we choose the carer we all feel can most meet your requirements and someone you can get along with.
Your care requirements and needs are discussed with you at length and a care plan is drawn up and reviewed frequently with you to ensure it’s working and continues to meet your needs.

How does live-in care compare to residential care? (Care homes)

Most people will agree that there’s no place like home and remaining in familiar surroundings and in the comfort of your own home is just one of the major benefits that live-in care offers over moving to a residential care home.

Here are a few of the other key benefits of Live-in Care from Pulse8 + Care:

– Better care through one to one attention
– A care plan which is tailored to your needs rather than you fitting in with a care homes’ timetable
– Maintain your lifestyle and the freedom to make your own choices
– Continue to enjoy caring for and spending time with your pets
– Live-in care is often cheaper than the cost of a residential care home (particularly for couples)
